Penang Trip Part 6 – Pinang Peranakan Mansion

The Peranakans, also know as the Baba-Nyonya, was a prominent community of acculturated Chinese unique to this part of the world, especially in the Straits Settlements (Penang, Malacca, Singapore) hence its other name, the Straits Chinese. They adopted selected ways of the local Malays and later, the colonial British, and with this they created unique lifestyle and cultural customs. The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is a typical home of a rich Baba of a century ago recreated as a museum to offer a glimpse of their lifestyle and of their many customs and traditions.

My Itinerary to Penang was: our itinerary: Air Itam (laksa, muar chee(Link) and Kek Lok Si temple (Link)) -> Clan Jetties Weld Quay (sunrise) Link -> George Town/City (Khoo Kongsi, Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Cheong Fat Tze Mansion), so tune in for further posts and check out the previous posts :)
