11th February 2012 – It was a fine Saturday morning and as a photographer, of course I wouldn’t miss the chance to pick up my camera for some shots.
We decided to have a stroll around North Sydney. Without any plans, we stopped by Chatswood Westfield for some shopping for my wife. Just at the entrance of the shopping centre, Luke Gerber (alter ego Winnie The Pooh) was performing with his friends Satsuki (lead singer in the pink ches shire cat suit) and Dave (percussionist/guitarist/vocalist in the brown Chipendale suit). Took some shots of Luke and friends good performance, and I would highly recommend for anyone to be in Chatswood Westfield on Saturday to drop by at their performance. They also play every Friday evening at a cafe in Lane Cove called Epitome.
We then drove to Kirribilli Wharf for waterfront views and a different angle on Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge (having dropped by at the Mrs Macquarie’s Chair just a few days ago). The weather suddenly changed like that of a baby started crying, and rain poured down heavily that we had to take shelter in the car.
There is a saying “There is always sunshine after the rain”, after heavy rain and wind of roughly half an hour the weather took a dramatic change and it was all sunny again. This gave me a chance to try shots of reflection in the water (a.k.a. Luna Park’s Entrance and Harbour Bridge) and I’d really regretted for not bringing my Circular Polarizing Filter!
After a tiring day, we stroll through Luna Park a bit, and drove around Neutral Bay, and ended our North Sydney Day trip with a delicious Special Ramen for our dinner at the Ryo’s Noodles at Lane Cove – highly recommended 🙂
